Hey everyone, the subject pretty much says it all. I'm wanting to go ovo-vegetarian, but it's just so hard! I used to drink around two glasses of plain, straight-foward milk per day, but now I don't consume it unless it's in something. I have converted to rice milk there. Butttt, I am the ultimate butter addict, I swear, if I were to get pregnant (not likely xD) I reckon that would be what I'd crave. So, that's my hugest obstical; butter! I lovelovelovelovelovelove it. So much. Not to mention chocolate, but I don't like that anywhere near as much. Sooo, help me? I really want to go Ovo, but it's like, impossible for me. Tips pleaseee.
And, just while I'm at it: Why aren't I going Vegan? Simple answer. We breed and raise our own chickens for their eggs. Our hens are all hand raised, fed off top quality food and are much loved family pets. They're very well kept, have a paddock of over 1.5 acres to roam every day, and are only locked up in their coop at night to stop the threat of foxes. So I see no problem in consuming their eggs ^^. Not posting that to fire anyone up, so if you would, ignore it, haha.
Sooo, pleasepleaseplease help me, or at least try

your farm sounds lovely all egg farms should be like that! the main thing is not to push it (if you do you might just end up going back to old habits) take your time, at your own pace, keeping in mind that the most important thing is to spread the message, rather than to be personally pure. is butter and margarine really different? (I don't remember!) because you could use earth balance or something similar to replace your butter? and one thing I did when I went vegan (it was hard!) I wrote down all the food that I liked but wanted to quit. Then I ranked them, like. for example 1. ice cream 2. cheese 3. egg salad and then every other week I would take out egg, then the next week cheese, and then finally ice cream (and in your case, butter) hope this helps!

Oooo, that butter looks good. I knew there was vegan butter, but after trying vegan cheese, man, that put me off vegan products -vomit- xD. I'll have to see if they sell that here.
Whirrs: That's what I did with lacto-ovo, cut out the things I liked least and eventually worked up to completely meat free. Worked good, too ^^. Yes, butter and margarine are different. Margarine is one molecule away from plastic, and looks reallll gross to me, hahaha.
Thanks everyone!

haha, awesome hope that works again for going ovo! oh god, really? xD I never really liked margarine myself, but then I didn't like butter either. I love ice cream though, I actually miss proper ice cream sometimes. and ice cream sandwiches. D: D: D: If I'm preggers and have cravings it'd probably be for ice cream. And not the sorbets or the rice dream crap (hehe, sorry!). It'd be proper cappuccino truffle from haagen dazs. om nom nom nom nom.

Sorry I took so long to reply to this!
Yea, really, it's pretty gross, butter's much more healthy than margarine, though still not good at all xD I actually don't like ice-cream that much, though I love custard.. And I've never tried an ice-cream sandwich xD. Anyway, I got offered an ice-cream today and rejected, so that's a start, haha.
And in other news (tehe xD), I haven't been able to find that 'Earth balance' anywhere here in Aus :/

Hm, perhaps, but then it's the problem of whether my parents will let me. BUT, I do know of another vegan margarine sold here thanks to my vegan friend, tehe. I have tried it before and it taste terrible, but that was ages ago. Maybe I'll like it now.. Must try it.
