What is your opinion on abortion?
My opinion is that if there is a serious reason for it (health issues, rape, etc.,) you should be allowed to get an abortion. However, if it's just because you don't want a baby, I think it's wrong. If you don't want a baby, put it up for adoption. Yes, the baby put up for adoption probably will feel bad about not being wanted even before it was born, but I do not believe that it shouldn't be able to experience life at all.

im 100% for abortion. for reasons you mentioned just as rape but also for the child's safety. if a parent doesn't want child, as far as im concerned, they should not have on. not all parents have the common sense to put their child up for adoption. in many cases the child is simply unloved and abused. my friend's mom is a crack addict. she's a scary person. recently she had another child, i had being hoping she'd get an abortion, but she didn't. now the child is brain damaged and unconsciously addicted to crack. thank god the uncle demanded he take care of the child.
either way, i understand why people are pro-choice. but not only are unwanted children the most abused but THERE ARE 6.7 BILLION OF US..... 6,700,000,000.... i think we need to start getting fixed!

When a zygote becomes more important than a woman's life then the world has gone mad indefinately.

I find it rather ironic that people that are so pro-animal rights can be so anti-human life. Upon fertilization, that zygote you're referring to IS a human being. This is something you cannot deny no matter how you try to twist it around because... If it's not a human being, what is it? Obviously it isn't a damned puppy or kitten, seeing as we don't have people popping those out, now is it? When an egg gets fertilized it becomes.. oh my here it goes... a human! You can say "no it's just a little mass of multiplying cells, not an actual human being". There you are wrong. If it was "just a mass of multiplying cells" then it would remain just that, would it not? A little mass that never turned into something more. But no, it is a mass of multiplying HUMAN cells, that are going on to create a human body, a baby. I do not believe that abortion is the answer under ANY circumstance. And I honestly do mean ANY. Rape, incest, danger to the baby or the mother, no. Let nature take its course in the instance of risk to the mother or baby. At least they had a chance. At least that person inside of that mother had a chance. You can say "Oh but what if someone was raped and is unfit to be a parent and provide a quality life for their child? You want it to suffer?" Number one. There is the option of adoption. Now you're going to argue that with "omg orphanages are evil and some don't ever get adopted and they have to live in terrible places blah blah blah!" AT LEAST THEY GOT THE CHANCE TO HAVE A LIFE AT ALL. And yes, there are some "bad" adoption places but you can't assume that because you saw the movie "Annie" all of them are terrible and all the kids are miserable and that every baby is gonna end up at a sucky place. Number two. If adoption for some reason is not an option to someone, they can take what life has dealt them and WORK. WORK HARD to provide for their child. Even if the kid doesn't have the luxuries of a cell phone or an ipod, AT LEAST THEY GOT TO HAVE A LIFE INSTEAD OF BEING OFFED BEFORE THEY WERE BORN. Oh, and I really just LOVE when people use the excuse of abortion because the baby will have a mental or physical disorder. I mean heck, why don't we just kill 'em, right? Save 'em from the difficulties they'll face? Screw that. It's not for YOU to decide. EVERYONE has difficulties they go through throughout their lives. This person's will just be different than yours, maybe more challenging. Does that mean they don't have the right to live, to try to get through it? Hell no! A child that is going to be born with a mental handicap has just as much right to live as someone that has to go through life without a car or without legs. Now you can bomb me with "OMG YOU'RE SO MEAN THOSE POOR PEOPLE THAT GET PREGNANT BY THEIR DADS AHH!" I may come across as it, but I am not some cold-hearted person. I'm not trying to say "hey sucks for you, suck it up". I honestly feel very, very sorry for the women those kinds of unfortunate things happen to and I understand it is very traumatic. But, I feel that they should be able to put others before themselves, even if it is just a tiny human life inside of them that seems so insignificant. If a woman that was raped honestly could NOT stand to raise that child, I would understand and I would say go for adoption because it isn't the child's fault they have a scumbag for a father and they shouldn't have to die for it.

What if the doctors determine there is little chance at all? What if you were in that position?
Also, can you at least try to debate instead of scream at us all?

What if the doctors determine there is little chance at all? What if you were in that position? Even if there is little chance at all, there is still a chance and it shouldn't be taken away. If I were in that position, I can honestly, 100% say that I would take the chance because I do not value my own life over a child's.

What if someone else wanted to get an abortion, because their life was at extreme risk? Should they just be forced to die, or should they have the choice of whether they die or not? A small bunch of cells versus a woman who can already feel-- Which one should live?

we are NOT anti-human life. i care greatly for my fellow man. as i mentioned before, if a woman is in a terrible situation, have the child of her own father (or some other rape situation) in many cases they have negative feelings toward the child, they child will simply suffer! i may feel this way because i completely believe in reincarnation, i believe everyone gets more than one chance. i see where you're coming from, but to a point i DO see it as just multiplying cells, at what point does the soul actually enter the body? however i do not support abortions after about 3 months, when they actually become conscious and i personally believe the soul enters the body; then it is a human.
how does that make us anti-human life?! i would get my cat or dog an abortion!

I actually agree very much with dejavu. I believe in taking chances because sometimes everything turns out for the better - and you would never get that if you just aborted the baby. of course, in extreme situations like "What if someone else wanted to get an abortion, because their life was at extreme risk? Should they just be forced to die, or should they have the choice of whether they die or not?" I suppose abortion is the only choice. But otherwise, I am completely pro-life. and about the cells thing, well. I'm not going to debate about that because I don't know when a zygote becomes a proper life and when it's just a cell. What I know, though, is that just because he/she's not a life YET doesn't mean he/she won't EVER become a life. Abortion is taking away a baby's chance to live. )': Which is why "A small bunch of cells versus a woman who can already feel" was sort of. WOAH. I know you didn't mean to, but it sort of reminded me of people who compare lives of pigs/cows to humans. It makes sense when you first hear it, but then you realise that the person forgot pigs and cows are individuals too. i478.photobucket.com/albums/rr148/allsodeep/choices.jpg

also, not all women will abuse their unwanted child. Just because someone feels a certain way at a certain point in time, doesn't mean they will feel the same way their entire life. And if you really care about the women's lives, you have to realise that abortion HURTS women too. Many women regret aborting their baby, wondering what their kid would have been like and not believing that they gave up the chance of a life. Sometimes girls are pressured into abortion by their boyfriends or families, this wouldn't be possible if abortion was made less available. Just look at this site I found on google: www.steadyhealth.com/Abortion_regret__lasts_for_years__t59271.html)oh, and this www.thesite.org/community/reallife/truestories/whyiregretmyabortionoh god. It made me cry so much. D:

no, i completely agree with you, abortion can and is the worst choice in some cases, some times its the best choice, it all really depends. there are always circumstances. as with any situation, there are always circumstances, one answer will solve every problem, every time. yes, not every mother would abuse her unwanted child, but still, not every mother will love them either. that picture is harsh, could that be turned into a link? not that i dont want to think about it, its very true and very wrong. that's clearly a child, an abortion after 3 months. thats wrong.

Sorry. I really didn't really mean to sound like that. I meant that comparison in extreme life-threatening situations. I definitely didn't even word it right.
I think I agree with most that has been said in the pro-life point of view on this thread so far.

it's okay, angela! (: I agree too - if it's life threatening, abortion is the only choice. anyway, hope you guys still aren't 100% for abortion! I'm glad you can see my point of view!
about the "not every mother will love them either." point, though,
I strongly believe that the baby has a right to live even if his/her mother will not love him/her. Plus, that is just an assumption. I just don't think an assumption that the mother won't love her baby justifies killing it. Especially keeping in mind that people can change their opinions in time.
