i'm starting one really soon and am hunting for ideas of what to do ion the club.
i was thinking:
special guest speakers
free snacks
potluck, fundraising, volunteer events
library displays
campaign for dissection choice policy, more veg lunches and cruelty-free cleaning products
movies
do you have any ideas, or what do you do in your club (if you have one)?

Maybe your group can print out tons of pages from Petfinder's adoptables and tape them up around town, pet stores, and wherever else you can think of.
I wish I had a group, but I do not know of any other veg*ns in my area.

I wish my mom were vegetarian. She seems to let go the suffering of the animals she eats. Maybe if I show her a few more videos, I could get her to at least reduce the amount of meat she eats.

Hey I'm starting a group too!
I have a bunch of ideas which I sent to my friend in an email, feel free to use them if you like them!
"we should make a powerpoint about animal rights and stuff (slaughterhouses in hk) to show at the first meeting. And then talk about what we're going to do, which may consist of these:
Free vegan snacks at meetings
make posters & flyers & brochures around school
campaign for school to have more vegetarian/vegan choices
raise money for local animal shelters (bake sale?)
no leather shoes day (we could raise awareness about cruelty of leather beforehand)
advocating day in causeway or mongkok (sorta like a field trip! if people like the idea anyway)
stopping dissection in class, at least for people who don't want to.
trips to the zoo or animal shelter
write letters to local newspapers regarding animal cruelty
mass petition-signing from better known AR websites
maybe start a petition against shark finning/investigate slaughterhouse (Don't think we'll get this far though.)"

OH, I LIKE THESE IDEAS. especially the no leather day, i'll do a fur one too!
not the zoo though (the way zoos get their animals in horrible), but sanctuaries, we'll visit those!

Awesome!  oh yeah, especially with my school! Leather shoes are part of our uniform, and no one likes wearing school shoes, so I think it'll be a hit.  |
