Four arrested over injured kangaroos A MAN is facing animal cruelty charges after four injured kangaroos were discovered in eastern Victoria. Two other men and a teenager were also arrested today in Jack Smith Lake Game Reserve in Middle Road, Darriman. A 21-year-old man from Athlone was charged with car theft, criminal damage, possessing a firearm while unlicensed and cruelty to animals. He was bailed to appear at the Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court in Morwell on September 15. A 20-year-old Drouin South man is expected to be charged on summons for firearm offences and hunting protected animals. An 18-year-old Warragul man is expected to be charged on summons for cruelty to animals. Police have also questioned a 15-year-old boy.
