Many thousands of you contacted Wendy's over the past 22 months to ask the company to move away from battery cage confinement of laying hens. The Humane Society of the United States has discussed this issue with Wendy's for a long time, too. Today, we're proud to announce that Wendy's has started
to move away from eggs from caged hens.
Thanks to your actions, the company's modest but meaningful actions will prevent thousands of hens from being crammed into tiny battery cages

Latest Advancement
Wendy's new policy is the latest advancement in the ongoing transition away from cruel cages on factory farms. Just last week, The HSUS celebrated our victory in Maine
, where we successfully pushed for legislation making Maine the sixth state to ban gestation crates and veal crates
.
There's More to Do
This milestone wouldn't be possible without the tens of thousands of you who called or wrote to Wendy's, donated funds, leafleted outside of Wendy's restaurants, took action online, and more. Thank you so much for taking action for farm animals -- your advocacy makes a difference!
Even with this progress, we need to keep up the momentum. McDonald's
only uses eggs from caged hens in the United States. Call 1-800-244-6227 and ask the company to start using cage-free eggs.
