Yuck.
I don't get one, anyways. I was offered a flu vaccine a few years ago but didn't get it. I hate needles, anyways. I don't remember the last time I got the flu, and I've never been vaccinated against it in my life.
Vegetarianism can be a strong defense against sickness because of the huge amounts of Vitamin C we get. ^-^ We don't really need it.

my moms been studying vaccines for 20 years. she has proof that vaccines cause autism (certain ones, given the children under two years old). needless to say, ive never been vaccinated for anything, and have been to the hospital once.

I wish I could get away without vaccination here. There are many vaccines my school requires >.<
Also, many vaccines are tested on animals. By getting a vaccine, you are giving money to the company that made the vaccine and will continue to test animals. We don't even need some of the vaccines we have.

what do you feel about malaria vaccines? If you go to Africa, you have to take those to prevent you from dying.
On the other hand, the swine flu vaccine is useless. My friend had swine and she was ok after a couple of days. no point wasting money / time and risking side effects for something that won't kill you.

I meant it as in, you're straightedge/hardline (sp?) right? Would that mean you can never go to places like Africa ?

being straightedge vegan is so tough. No trips to exotic places, no alcohol, no drugs, no cakes with by-products, no sex...
I admire you for that, but at the same time I would hate to live such a limited and restricted life.

I honestly don't see the sense in a swine flu vaccine except as a money-making scam. From what I've heard, the swine flu isn't that bad. Someone actually said that it's like the regular flu. The worst I've heard about it from a person who actually had it is, "it's a really bad chest cold" or something like that. Sure, it's killed people, but so does normal flu. In fact, I've heard it's only supposed to kill the same amount of people the normal flu kills.

What the people weren't saying who were trying to get people vaccinated was that there was actually a swine flu outbreak back in the 70's and that more people died from being given the vaccine than from the swine flu itself... and people who didn't die from the vaccine got life long health problems from it. (Sorry to reply to a topic that hasn't had a post for a couple of months, I just wanted to show how dangerous vaccines are. If you go google about the swine flu back in the 70's then it says all about it. Or click on here and the info is close to the bottom: www.capitalcentury.com/1976.html )

My mom told me about that when my school was trying to vaccinate the students, so she didn't have me get it. I'm pretty darn glad, because I don't want to end up with health problems due to a barely-tested vaccine. I don't trust it at all. Sure, the "authorities" are claiming it's safe, but why should I trust them?

In my province, the former health official was against everyone getting vaccinated. He said that unless you had a underlying health issue you shouldn't get the vaccine. Also the government was trying to get everyone to get vaccinated for it but over half the people said they weren't going to get it XD no one in my province has confidence in our government XD

Wow I'm glad that I didn't get the vaccine. Where in canada were the most reactions? Even if I had wanted to get the vaccine, which I don't, my mom wouldn't have let me XD my mom is against the regular flu vaccine and the swine flu vaccine so I'm lucky I didn't have to fight her on that.
