I just stopped eating meat and said that I did not feel like it. My mom eventually caught on and just let me be vegetarian. Then, I got the veg kits in the mail, and my mom found out what really happens. She began cutting out meat from her diet, too, and also eats veggie burgers with me ^_^. She was extremely shocked when she tried them and found out how delicious they are. How did your parents let you become vegetarian? Maybe this thread will be able to help others who are having problems with their parents not letting them become vegetarian. I do not have any advice to give about how to have your parents accept your choice of becoming vegan because I live in a pescetarian family (vegetarian+fish.) Initially, though, they were both worried because my mom is a nurse and has seen people die of b12 deficiency, and my dad had a niece who hid an eating dissorder by saying she was vegetarian(thus avoiding having to eat with the family, because in their family they eat meat with every meal.) But they are completely cool with it now.

my step dad told me i would die if i went vegan. i told him i'd rather die than support the murder of my friends. the rest is history! XD

just do A LOT of research before you tell your parents. About nutrition mostly. Make a list of all the nutrients you need and then write where you can get those nutrients from. know how to counter their meat-eating arguments!  good luck everyone! |

well my mom is still arguing with me on that because she said that my body will not get all of the nutricions like omega 3  and i know that omega 3 comes from fish.anyways i was wondering what is b12? and how can I get all of my nutricions from vegetables and fruits? |
