It's a little late for this, but better late than never, I suppose.

Dear Mrs. Gram,
While I think it is great that students have a chance to learn about the anatomy of animals such as crayfish, frogs, etc., I think they should also be let known about the alternatives just a little better, not only for the gross factor but also for the living animal factor also. I believe all life should be respected and not cut up when there are other ways of doing things. After all, life is what biology is about, is it not? Of course, that’s just me. You do not have to agree with my opinions, but maybe there should be a little bit more information said about the alternatives to dissection next time and maybe a half a sentence on why people would actually opt out of dissect, just so students have just a tiny bit more information to consider while choosing whether to dissect or not.
I have really enjoyed learning about creatures’ internal features thus far, despite merely learning on paper and computer. I really do look forward to dissection day, despite the many animals that have to die for it. While they may be dead, I realize that by dissecting, I would still be supporting the death of these beautiful animals, no matter how large or small they may be.
I feel you barely talked about opting out of dissection at all, and more should have been said.
Just a thought, A student
