What is your opinion on the ALF? I'll let everyone else start, first.

While I might not resort to supposed 'violence,' I support the ALF. Sometimes, the only thing you can do is to liberate the animals. A good way to get to these companies is to make sure their exploitation of animals is not profitable. They do this by destroying their property and taking away their animals. The ALF has never once harmed any living being! And yet, when the anti-abortionists do the same while hurting people, no one recognized it (until one incident, Dr. George Tiller). Why are the ones that are going against the mainstream on the Most Wanted list and not the anti-abortionists? Hmmm.

^I read some of their on-line stuff. I really liked the one with the guinea pigs in the hands of the liberator, but that's just me .

Oh wow, thanks so much shadowvegan! I always used to be pretty naive about it all. Dreaming about just getting up and out to rescue animals. this sort of shook me awake about all the other factors with it, such as getting caught by police and security cameras and DNA and everything. So thanks a whole bunch for that. And about ALF, I ADORE them. I know it's about changing opinions and getting people on your side and gradually cutting out demand&supply. But it makes me so happy that there's people who actually do SOMETHING for the animals. Even if it's one life, it's one life! And that's what really matters to me.

You probably shouldn't contact the company about their violation of animal rights prior to your direct action, especially if you sign your name, leave fingerprints on the envelope, etc., because that will probably make you a suspect. Don't do this after, either. It's either above ground or below.

I didn't mean that anyone is doing that. That was more of a tip for those who wanted to participate in direct action.

I have to say that I was "iffy" about the ALF but after I watch this documentary about them I have to say that they are extremely dedicated and selfless people. They do no harm to any living being, though I don't support the fires. I am in no way part of the ALF but I can't say that I hate them for what they do.
