Okay, I really don't understand you. Just because these sheep rely on humans they should just die out? Die? What if you were one of these sheep used for wool? You're saying you would want you and the rest of your species die out merely because you give away your wool once a year? You would want your species to die out even though most of them are very well cared for and you are happy? According to Coco, who has seen the sheep with her own eyes, they live very happy, great lives. And the people who actually lived in the Middle Ages know much more about their lives than historians. Aren't we supposed to be saving animals? Instead your talking about how these sheep shouldn't exist. Well they do exist, and since they are perfectly nice creatures, I think it should stay that way. As for the slave thing, sheep are well-treated, but they aren't slaves! What work do they do? Sitting down and getting a "haircut" that saves your life isn't work. I agree about how it's bad that they are killed for food, though. That is very sad and shouldn't occur. I'm not yelling and I apologize if I sound like it, so please don't be offended.

The individual sheep that have been already born shouldn't just die, but breeding a species that is used purely for human use is, in my opinion, a complete violation of animal rights. I've seen happy cows with my own eyes. Does that mean that factory farms don't exist? From the Merriam-Webster On-line Dictionary: www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/slave1 : a person held in servitude as the chattel of another 2 : one that is completely subservient to a dominating influence How does one save someone who has never even existed? Maybe we should start eating animals that have been treated decently, so we could "save" them from nonexistence.

Err, they don't just give wool. They give meat. Wool is a BY PRODUCT of the meat industry. The sheep still get killed for their meat. Coco can claim the sheep are happy all she wants. Doesn't make it right to use them for human use though. The slave point was that the sheep are still being USED for human gain. That's the only reason they're here, because humans WANT something from the sheep. Would you think it ok to shave humans (if they grew fur) and then sell them to be slaughtered for meat if they were treated nicely? A slave is STILL A SLAVE no matter how 'happy' you claim them to be. Your point about middle ages people is null and void because nobody who lived in the middle ages is alive! So historians clearly know more about the middle ages than something that doesn't even exist! Yet they have not experienced the middle ages because that was a long time ago. I was pointing out you don't need first hand experience to know things (even though I have had first hand experience). Sheep don't enjoy being sheered, it's easy to see that much, because sheep shearers force the sheep on their back and manhandle them. The sheep will suffer cuts from the shearing too. Why would anyone want to go through that, animal or human? The only reason they 'need' a 'haircut' is because we BRED them that way so that we could obtain the wool for OURSELVES. Using animals for personal gain is never right, no matter how much you claim the animal to be 'happy'.
