it's the best (and sometimes only) option for some people. i support people who seriously decide to do it.

I have mixed feelings about this one.
I think, if someone is terminally ill, or has cancer or something, it's their right to choose suicide. If they don't want to deal with the pain, or endless treatments that may or may not even work, then they shouldn't have to. I know that if I got cancer, or had to be on life support or oxygen or something, I'd want to have the option to end it.
When people are hurt emotionally is when it gets tricky. I think that if someone is upset by something relatively temporary (breaking up with a longtime boyfriend, illness/death of a loved one, etc) then it's not okay. That person needs to get through it, and continue living.
But for people who really believe that it's the only way out, or have been depressed or miserable for a long time, then shouldn't they have the choice to do it?
But then there's the other side of it. The person who commits suicide usually leaves behind friends or family who are then very upset by the whole thing.
I think that, as with most things, it really depends on the situation. But it's always a quality of live vs. quantity of life thing. If the person is better off dead in the long run, then why not let them?

I'm suicidal so I know what it's like to be in that dark place. It's everyone's right to end their own life if they feel that is the only way out.

I'm suicidal so I know what it's like to be in that dark place. It's everyone's right to end their own life if they feel that is the only way out. -------- I believe the person has the right to decide 100% of the time. Is it always the best decision? Definitely not. That does not mean they don't have the right to choose want they want to do to their own selves. I do, however, believe in persuading others not to do it and to support them as much as you possibly can. Still, it is their choice. Some who are suicidal don't think they'll ever get out of it, especially if they've been depressed for quite a while. Depression can make you think pretty gloomy and morbid thoughts that you normally wouldn't think if you weren't depressed. You can even think of yourself as worthless and feel guilt for no reason. Feeling depressed day in and day out is also a nightmare. Causes of depression are also quite varied. It is often because of whatever is happening in one's life, but it can also be genetic. There are many who get over it in a few months time to a year, but there are people who have it for years upon years.
