Many, many people will become very angry if you try to show them why they should become vegetarian. They will often say, "STOP FORCING YOUR OPINIONS DOWN MY THROAT!" However, if we keep quiet, how can we change anything?
What is your opinion on keeping your mouth shut in order to avoid such situations and to not "shove your opinion down anyone's throat?"

the only time i get all preachy to someone is when they make some ignorant comment about animal product eating to me first.. as though they feel threatened or like i'm judging them or something(when i don't actually say or do anything), it's not uncommon for some 'friends' of mine to make comments out of the blue, (poorly) attempting to justify their eating of flesh(and eggs and dairy). usually i give them an earful about the hellish conditions, filth and squalor, and horrendous deaths of the animals commercially raised for meat, eggs, and dairy.. and then they finally stfu.
however, i do not bring it up on my own because meateaters seem to lash out when you confront them about their bloody appetite. i have heard many stories of veg*ns confronting meat eating friends or family about their lethal habits, only to get a response of "well, i'm going to eat twice as many animals every time you mention vegetarianism!1!1!1!" or some other stupid #$%& like that.

one of my favorite tactics is to pretend to need something out of my bag and in the process of looking for whatever it is, i just happen to lay some "why vegans" near the person i'm talking to. almost every time ive done this, they've picked up the leaflet, 2 of the people i've done this to have gone vegetarian after reading it! i always pretend it was unintentional and after a moment i ask if they would like to keep it. i dont say anything about the leaflet unless they ask questions. i basically keep it off topic.
