Some people think that you have to get B-12 from animal sources, so you cannot even go vegetarian. However, there IS B-12 in dairy and egg products. Also, some cereals and soymilks are fortified with B-12. Just check the label. There are also some vegan supplements you can take if you're afraid you are not getting enough B-12. This vegan multi-vitamin contains B-12: www.veganstore.com/index.html?stocknumber=240%20%20%20%20%20%20%20IRON

Yves lunch meats and hot dogs also are fortified with B12. If you have a Giant food store near you, I recommend buying some of Nature's Promise's rice or soy milk. It has 50% of the daily value of B12. B12 is used by all of the cells in your entire body, include nerve cells and blood cells. That is something new I learned today. I thought it was just used in nerve cells. B12 is supposedly recycled in your body, but I am trying to find a reliable source that says so. Symptoms of deficiency: Early: * unusual fatigue * faulty digestion * no appetite * nausea * loss of menstruation Others: * numbness and tingling of the hands and feet1 * nervousness1 * diarrhea2 * mild depression1 * striking behavioral changes1 * paranoia1 * hyperactive reflexes1 * fever3 * frequent upper respiratory infections4 * impotence5 * impaired memory5 * infertility6 * sore tongue2 * macrocytic anemia * low platelet count3,7 and increased bleeding3 * neutropenia3 ----NEUROLOGICAL SYMPTOMS--- Source of symptoms: www.veganhealth.org/b12/sympt
