Virtual Protests, Anyone?

Anyone think that protesting virtually is a good idea.

I could create an event on Facebook to advertise it, so we could get more protesters.

Some ideas:
-Making signs, taking pictures of us holding them, and uploading them to the Internet.
-Posting these signs on the Facebook pages of companies that hurt animals.
-E-mailing these pictures as well as a detailed explanation of why we're doing this.
-Flooding e-mails, Facebooks, and whatever else we can.
-Putting "www.vegteens.tk" on our signs to also advertise our forum.
-After we're done, we could post a compilation of all of our photos and make a YouTube video out of them.

Anyone have anymore ideas?

We'd also have to have set dates and times for such protests and maybe meet in the chatroom.

Some places we could target:
-HLS
-Breeders
-McDonald's
-Dunkin' Donuts
-Prescription drug companies
-Susan G. Komen
-American Heart Association
-Burger King
-KFC
-Pizza Hut
-Taco Bell
-Petsmart
-PetCo
-Pet Supplies Plus
-IHOP
-Denny's
-Perkin's
-Zoos
-SeaWorld
-Those who are for Breed-Specific Legislation
etc.

What we could make signs out of:
-Computer paper
-Dry erase board or a chalk board if you have any (can be reused easily)
-What you'd normally use at a protest
-Be creative

Maybe we could have them once per week, like on a Friday or Saturday.


We could also have human rights protests every once in a while, too.

When would anyone be able to make a virtual protest?

Post if you'd like to attend one, even if you have no ideas or anything. I need to know if anyone would even attend one, so I could maybe schedule something sometime.

I think I REALLY want to protest the Sea Shell Shop, first, but I don't know if anyone else wants to do that.

I would love to attend a protest. You would have to email or facebook me the time and place though, because I don't get on vegteens very much =]

I'd like to support the Meat Free Monday movement. Getting people who eat meat involved in the vegetarian cause seems like a good idea, and rather than protesting we can focus on what you can do besides boycott a country. Plus, if you get a meat eater to particiapate in Meat Free Mondays, it's protesting all of the corporations who abuse/ mistreat farm animals to be eaten by not giving them as much revenue as they'd already be getting. Seems to me an attack on many is better than a protest on one company. Just a thought, and Meat Free Monday could just be a part of the next campaign that vegteens focuses on.

That sounds like an interesting suggestion.

Some ideas:
-Have a day where we all go to a certain site (or even in real life) and try to get everyone to avoid meat on Mondays.
-Since most of us are already at least vegetarian, we could try to show at least one new person every Monday what happens to animals in the farming industry.
-There was another idea, but I forgot it xD.
