Wow, I have read some of the bible, and have never stumbled upon those. Maybe this is some new initiative to read some more. I think that's great that your church is vegetarian. My church (I only call it mine because my family is involved and I like to participate in the charity events and community service) are mainly all carnivores. Maybe I should set up a Veg Briefing. I wonder how many people would show up....

I have a few things to say.
One, humans are made to be OMNIVORES! We have the canines for tearing amdthe molars to chew. But because of this we get to choose which one we eat =J
Two, the bible is very interpretive but I agree. God wants to have mercy, so why do we only show it to humans?
Three, Im not sure if Jesus was a vegan. I haven't read enough o he bible to be sure but doesn't he eat fish somewhere in it. But I the rest of your aguement makes sense. His veganism could have been lost in translation and it makes sense.

In arguments between meat eaters and vegetarians/vegans, I often try to use "the three R's" (reduce the number of animals you eat, refine which animal products you eat, and replace animal products with veg options) in opening up others to even being receptive about animal issues and food consumption. I've had really good results with it (even if it's a gradual adjustment) and wanted to put it out there for all of you. More information at www.humaneteen.org/?q=node/41

Our canines aren't anything like true canines of omnivores and carnivores...the canine's argument is pointless because they're hardly canines at all in the true 'canine' tooth sense.

^^Got that one from my social studies teacher. My response to that is always, "Yes, and I am an atheist, so there." and sometimes, "Well, if meat tastes so good, why don't you go eat your dog?"
